Lindy George has been a dedicated educator for almost three decades. In that time, she has touched the lives of many children of all ages as well as numerous educators. She currently is a District Instructional Technology Specialist for Collier County Public Schools in Southwest Florida.
Lindy was co-project manager for the AV/Tech retrofit of all 50 schools in Collier County, which totals approximately 2,800 classrooms. This included the installation of ceiling mounted projectors, document cameras, DVD/VCR players, audio systems, and Mimios. This extensive, three year project was completed on time and under budget - a major feat for sure! The team also provided face-to-face training for all teachers, at all locations throughout the project.
In her daily job, Lindy is responsible for the development, coordination, implementation and delivery of technology staff development which encompasses face to face, video and online training Training is integrated into the curriculum to make it relevant for the teachers and students.
Lindy works closely with district schools and administrators to meet the needs of teachers and students. In addition she also works with departments such as facilities - the technology classroom design is part of all plans for new schools in Collier County - and maintenance, who handles all of their warranty services.
Lindy strives to bring new technologies into the classroom which enhance the instructional program and delivery of curriculum. She is a passionate educator and Mimio is proud to name her our Featured Educator of the Month and to provide free tuition in the Mimio masters program.
