Mimio® Giving Away $25,000 in Interactive Classroom Technologies

Partnering with Discovery Education to Help New Teachers

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - October 22, 2008 - Mimio, a leading provider of interactive classroom technology, announced today that it will give away approximately $25,000 in interactive educational equipment this fall as part of the New Teacher Survival Central Sweepstakes, a major online promotion being held in conjunction with Discovery Education a division of Discovery Communications.

This promotion is part of Discovery Education's dynamic New Teacher Survival Central.Designed to reward and support first year K-12 educators, New Teacher Survival Central offers tips, tricks, tools, and practical suggestions for easing new teachers into the classroom. Throughout the site educators will find valuable essentials such as classroom management techniques, ideas for connecting classroom activities to the curriculum, lesson plans, peer-networking resources, tools to create engaging learning centers, and more. Mimio is a title sponsor of the New Teacher Survival Central.

Each month, as part of the New Teacher Survival Central Sweepstakes, Mimio will give away a Mimio Interactive system, complete with Mimio Pad, Mimio Wireless, Mimio Ink Capture kit, Mimio tuition and ancillary class items. At the end of the program, a grand prize will be awarded in which Mimio will outfit five classrooms and train up to 30 teachers on the Mimio products. The sweepstakes opens September 19th and closes January 29th. In addition to the giveaways, Mimio will be conducting introductory Mimio training classes online every Tuesday at 6:30 PM EST, starting September 30th through the duration of the program. In "Survival Guide: Best of the Web", teachers can access classes featuring Mimio tools and Discovery Education content and receive the tips for integrating technology into curriculum to benefit student learning and teaching methods. Sweepstakes participants simply enter the Discovery Education site and sign up for the class.

Veteran teachers are encouraged to spread the word to new teachers about the sweepstakes, as the educator who refers the grand prize winner will win a $1,500 Elmer's Creativity Collection and $5,000 from Discovery Education. New educators are encouraged to enter every week to improve their chances of winning.
