DYMO/Mimio ITT Acquires Headsprout
New York, NY, March 15, 2011 - DYMO/Mimio ITT has bought Headsprout, a software company that creates adaptive content.
"Headsprout and its content portfolio complement our technology and culture," says Laurence Huntley, DYMO/Mimio's general manager. "We will aggressively pursue hardware and software enhancements." The Cambridge, Massachusetts-based DYMO/Mimio, a company that makes interactive technologies for education, will immediately offer the Seattle-based Headsprout products through its hardware. Headsprout's products primarily target elementary students now, but new products will aim to serve learners from K-12. While its products are now used for individualized instruction, Huntley says the lessons can be converted to be used through Mimio technology.
The content will allow teachers to build their own lessons or use the pre-created modules, the general manager adds. DYMO/Mimio will look to expand these offerings worldwide.
"Our union sets the stage for important work that can transform the nature of learning in the classroom, by increasing teacher effectiveness and student achievement," says Dave Anderson, president and CEO of Headsprout.
