MimioStudio 7 Software Selected as 2011 CODiE™ Award Winner
Interactive Teaching Technology Software Recognized as one of Education Industry’s Finest Products
Cambridge, Mass. - May 25, 2011 - DYMO/Mimio announced today that its MimioStudio™ 7 software has been named the winner of the prestigious CODiE Awards in the Best Educational Use of a Device-Specific Application category.
Established by the Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA), the CODiEs recognize excellence and achievement in the business software, digital content and education technology industries and are the only peer-reviewed awards program within those sectors.
"We are honored to receive this distinction from the software community," said Dan Winkler, Senior Manager, Research and Development for DYMO/Mimio. "We’re thrilled that our colleagues recognize MimioStudio™ 7 software as an invaluable resource for educators using interactive teaching technologies."
MimioStudio 7 software seamlessly integrates with the MimioClassroom™ product suite of interactive teaching technology tools. Used with the MimioTeach™ interactive system, which converts any regular dry erase board into a fully interactive whiteboard, or any combination of elements from the product suite - the MimioVote™ assessment system, MimioView™ document camera, MimioPad™ wireless tablet and MimioCapture™ ink recording system - teachers can create interactive lessons with easy-to-use technology.
The award-winning software provides teachers with tools to create engaging interactive lessons with features such as hundreds of templates, activities and images that can be customized and tailored for specific grade levels that also include required teaching standards. Available in 28 languages and capable of running on Windows, Mac and Linux operating systems, MimioStudio 7 also includes grade book capabilities, so teachers can easily track student progress and test scores in conjunction with the MimioVote assessment system.
MimioStudio users can also download MimioStudio-compatible lesson plans from the MimioConnect™ community website, an online forum where educators can share content and ideas with their peers, as well as participate in online training in a variety of languages. The MimioConnect community currently has more than 75,000 members worldwide with over 4,600 lesson plans available for use.
"Now in its 26th year, the CODiE Awards continue to recognize those companies providing the best new technology products and services across a broad array of industries," noted SIIA President Ken Wasch. "In addition, its winners are a prolific testament to the power of technology to deliver innovative solutions to businesses and consumers."
The 425 nominated products and services were first reviewed by third-party judges, whose evaluations determined the 113 finalists. Since being established in 1986, the CODiE Awards program has showcased the software and information industry's finest products and services and to honor excellence in corporate achievement.
